History

The history of Duggal is one of innovation. Company founder, Baldev Duggal used his ingenuity and keen understanding of photography to design and built the first Dip and Dunk processing machine, which revolutionized film developing and the core technology is still used around the world today.

In the late '80s, Duggal invested aggressively in technology, to again vault the company forward. Duggal was the first company to introduce sophisticated RGB drum scanning and electronic retouching for photographers. Many graphics companies are still struggling to adapt to technology that Duggal embraced over two decades ago.

Duggal was incorporated in 1963 and is widely considered the nation’s top photo/imaging facility.

Visuals

Duggal designs and produces large volumes of unique, custom, oversize and complex visuals and fixtures for our exclusive image conscious clientele. The company is recognized as a leading innovator in our industry, and Duggal brings several new and exclusive products to the market each year. Duggal specializes in everything from high-resolution scanning and digital retouching of images that land on covers of magazines worldwide to giant digital murals that wrap entire buildings. During the last year our work has been displayed worldwide from Tokyo to Vienna, from the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C. to Grand Central Station in New York and in almost every high-end retail store on 5th avenue.

Our strength is derived from our reputation as the premier photo imaging facility for quality in the country as well as our diverse product mix and clientele. Our corporate clients include Disney, Victoria’s Secret, Getty Images, Abercombie & Fitch, Tommy Hilfiger, North Fork Bank, the Gap, Christie’s, Polo Ralph Lauren, The Museum of Modern Art, Tiffany’s and Coach.

Duggal New York

Duggal foresaw the migration of New York photographers downtown to the Flatiron District. Seeing an opportunity, Duggal immediately moved the business to 20th Street starting a trend that led to the establishment of what is now known as the photography district.

Today Duggal is still based in New York City, with a headquarters in a one-city-block deep 30,000 square feet space on 29 West 23rd street and four production facilities in Brooklyn totaling over 100,000 square feet of space.
